Gentle and effective acupuncture, rooted in traditional East Asian medicine with Hélène Julienne Descoteaux, R.Ac
About Hélène
pronounced: [eh-LEN]
I’m a Registered Acupuncturist with a background in holistic nutrition and community health. Before pursuing acupuncture, I spent over a decade working in the nonprofit sector, supporting initiatives in food security, environmentalism and cultural revitalization. That experience continues to shape how I offer care — with a focus on accessibility, education, and an understanding of the connection between personal and collective well-being.
I graduated from Pacific Rim College in 2024, after completing 2,190 hours of training, including over 460 hours of clinical practicum. My approach integrates acupuncture, bodywork (qi gong therapy and acupressure), cupping, moxibustion, and food therapy. I continue to deepen my clinical skills through advanced training in pain science, trauma-informed care, prenatal and postpartum treatment, pelvic floor and musculoskeletal needling, classical channel theory, and postgraduate studies in Chinese medicine. I strive to offer thoughtful, well-informed care that bridges traditional wisdom with current clinical understanding.
My practice focuses on the urogenital, digestive, and emotional systems of the body — areas that often overlap in complex ways. This includes support for hormonal shifts, perinatal care, postpartum recovery, pelvic and sexual pain, and healing after surgery, miscarriage, or abortion. I also work with stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and digestive or urinary concerns. Whether you're navigating a major life transition or seeking more ease in persistent symptoms, my goal is to provide compassionate, individualized care that meets you where you are.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind words from Clients
“Hélène creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere where I feel safe to share what’s going on with me and what I need. Hélène is able to meet me where I’m at and help me work towards health goals that are realistic for my life. In our many sessions, she has alleviated a wide variety of symptoms, stopped flares in their tracks and brought me to a feeling of groundedness. This practice has been invaluable to me. For anyone looking to care for their health in a holistic, practical and approachable way - I highly recommend working with Hélène!”

“Hélène’s treatments are amongst the best I’ve experienced in 8 years of receiving acupuncture. She takes her time and somehow makes even the most sensitive points feel good! Her ability to attune to and assess my energy was palpable and the results have been transformative.”

The meaning behind dew point.
The name dew point reflects my approach to viewing the body as an ecosystem, with the same qualities of balance and renewal we see in nature. In the natural world, the dew point is when air reaches just the right balance of moisture and temperature, forming droplets that nourish the earth. This speaks to the yin and yang principles that are at the foundation of Chinese medicine—the dynamic between coolness and warmth, moisture and dryness, the tangible and the ineffable. Ancient Chinese medical texts depict the body as a network of interconnected watersheds, illustrating how restoring balance in these ecological systems fosters health. The word point also nods to the point of the acupuncture needle, a precise tool (one of many in an acupuncturist’s toolkit) for supporting balance and change.
